 DULIAJAN, Feb 10 – Nation’s second largest oil Navaratna PSU, Oil India Limited is organising the 6Th Oil India Challenge Gold Cup Football Tournament from February 14 to 24 here at Nehru Maiden.

This was informed by the tournament’s organizing committee’s president and secretary during a press briefing today. Organising committee president Varun Sharma, GM (Geo-Science), OIL and secretary Arun Jyoti Baruah, Senior Manager (Employees Relation), OIL informed altogether 14 renowned teams from different parts of the country have confirmed their participation in this prize-money tournament of the State. The teams that confirmed participation are Lajong FC, Shilong, Punjab Police, Chandigarh, JCB Bhillai Brothers, Chatisgarh, Techno Aryan Club, Kolkota, Vasco SC, Goa, Assam Police Blues, Guwahati, ASEB, Guwahati, Gauhati Town Club, , Green Valley SC, Guwahati, NISA FC, Manipur, Nagaland Police, Nagaland, Five Star Southern Samity, Kolkota, host Oil India FC, Duliajan and League Champion (Football Academy, Duliajan). The prize money remained the same at Rs.1.73 lakh to the winning team and Rs. 70 thousand to the runners-up team. This time four new teams – Techno Aryan Club, Kolkota, Guwahati Town Club, Green Valley SC, Guwahati and Five Star Southern Samity, Kolkota will be seen in action.

Last season in the 5th OIL India Challenge Gold Cup Tournament host Oil India FC was the winner while Punjab Police, Chandigarh was the runners-up.
