Correspondent HOWRAGHAT, Feb 9 – The 80th annual conference of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha has got off to a smooth start amidst tight security. Though newly formed militant organisation Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) had last year warned the organisers against holding any cultural programme in the district from 7.30 pm, the rebel group today formally withdrew their decision following request from the organising committee. Devotees from different corners of the State have thronged the annual conference of the Sangha held at Jai Hari Khetra, Bakaliaghat in Karbi Anglong.
