Sports reporter
GUWAHATI, Feb 8 – In an exciting B Division I-League encounter at Silchar today, Green Valley Sports Club played a 3-3 draw against former Indian football team captain Baichung Bhutia led United Sikkim Football Club.

The highlight of the match was a hattrick by Nuruddin Salan Olawele who scored all the three goals with some sharp shooting for the Guwahati team.

Nuruddin put Green Valley ahead in the 24th minute anticipating a pass from Sabir Ali. But in the added time of first session, Danial drew parity off a flag kick.

The momentum of the second session increased and Thoi Singh took the Sikkim team ahead in the 47th minute. The Sikkim outfit went 3-1 up in the 51st minute when Green Valley defender Lalrinzuala Khintame scored a self goal.

Baiching, who entered the ground in the second session, was virtually bottled up by Green Valley defender Amal Ghosh and an irate Bhutia unleased a blow at Ghosh’s face. Following the incident, chaos ensued in the later part of the match. But Nurudding finally came to the rescue of Green Valley and scored two eye catching snap goals in the last five minutes of the match.
