Terang calls for unity among literary bodies

 Baithalangso, Feb 1 – The Asam Sahitya Sabha sixth special annual session was inaugurated today in the presence of representatives of different literature bodies, public and different ethnic cultural society groups.

It needs to be mentioned here that the laying behind and naturally magnificent Serdihun Aklam (Baithalangso) was bloomed with various community’s old-new writers, poets and literature apex bodies.

Inaugurating the Janagusthiya Sangskriti Samaroh, Kanak Chandra Sharma, vice president of Asam Sahitya Sabha lauded all the cultural bodies for converging under a common platform. He said that unification and development of literature of all the ethnic communities is a positive sign.

The chief guest of the function, namely Asam Sahitya Sabha president Rong Bong Terang appealed to all the literary organisations to be united and work for development of their literature and culture.

Later, celebration of Karbi new year ‘Ninkan Kimi’ was declared formally at the ethnic cultural function and subsequently a book fair was inaugurated by Terang.
