GUWAHATI, Jan 31 - Students of Cotton College who studied in the premier institution during 1985-1990, will meet tomorrow at the Cotton Alumni House here.
The students of these batches of Cotton College have been occupying various positions in and outside the State and contributing towards society.
At the function the organisers will felicitate some distinguished personalities like Dr Kamalendu Dev Krori, former principal of the college and filmmaker Reema Das. A souvenir will also be released on the occasion.
More than three hundred ex-students of those batches including some from outside the country are expected to participate in this reunion event, which will be ceremonially inaugurated by Prof Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University.
The group of ex-Cottonians christened ‘Xonkolp Cottonian 1985-90’, will form a permanent association with certain objectives to work in the long term and short term for their alma mater in particular and culture and society of the State in general.
The group proposes to work with the authority of Cotton University in helping brilliant but economically weak students of the university. It also proposes to help folk cultural icons of the State and bring them to the limelight by extending all possible help.
