Protests against CAA continue

 NAGAON, Dec 29 - In protest against the newly-amended Citizenship Act 2019, the Madhya Asom Pratibandhi Sangstha today took out a huge rally throughout Nagaon town.

Hundreds of protesters led by the president and general secretary of the organisation, Tankeswar Bora and Chinmoy Shankar Bora respectively, took part in the rally which traversed the whole town. The rally began from Mohendra Boruah School. During the rally, the protesters insisted that the people of Assam would never accept the act at any point and for that they were ready even to sacrifice all.

Meanwhile, the Dakshin Paschim anchalik unit of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) today organised a large protest rally against CAA here at Nagaon Dakshinpat where local bodies of employees union, Sahitya Sabha, Deshiya Moriya Deshi Jatiya Parishad, Borkola Jagrata Mahila Samaj and some other local organisations took part.

Thousands of agitators expressed their discontent over the Act and criticised both the saffron governments in the State and at the Centre for bringing it.
