|Book titled Mor Lekha released|
GUWAHATI, Dec 29 - Eminent novelist and dramatist Prabhat Goswami, well-known singer Dr Anjanjyoti Choudhury and retired Chief Forest Conservator Mohan Chandra Malakar released the Assamese book titled Mor Lekha at the Gauhati Artists’ Guild on December 28, a press release stated.
The book, written by author Kulendra Mohan Das contains 34 humorous pieces published in Prantik, Amar Asam, Sadiniya Sambad and a few other newspapers and magazines. While releasing the book, Goswami pointed out the dearth of writers in Assamese language who deal with humour, satire and other related topics. He also spoke about a few important aspects of humour writing and encouraged Das to continue his work.
Earlier, Dr Choudhury observed that publication and subsequent release of an Assamese book was an important landmark in the literary scenario of the state, especially in today’s turbulent times.
Heaping praise where it was due, he said that formal release of every book was in fact a worthy addition to the treasure trove of Assamese literature.
