GUWAHATI, Dec 29 - A group of entrepreneurs will launch an Indo-Western clothing line made of eri fabric that would cater to customers across the country and abroad.
The brand has been named ‘Aahika’ and the prelaunch of the clothing line has been planned on the New Year eve.
Pranami Das, managing director of Aahika, said that the customers would be able to pick specially designed clothing through their website and the delivery would be made in the quickest possible time.
Das said that they have already entered into a collaboration with the Assam Startup.
“Through Aahika, we plan to bridge the gap between the village weavers and artisans and the end-consumers based in different parts of the globe,” said Das.
She also informed that they have already set up centres in Guwahati, Sadiya, Dhemaji, Khumtai and Tiok where the local weavers have been facilitated with 50 looms at each centre.
“The products will be organic in nature as we are only relying on the natural dye,” she said.
The pre-launch event will take place at a city hotel on December 31.
