GUWAHATI, Dec 29 – The Assam Women’s Commission has sought a report from the police on the assault on a Mizo girl who was found wandering about in Nijarapar here, reports PTI.
The Commission acted on video footage aired by a local TV news channel which showed the girl, Josephine, being beaten up and kicked by women armed with sticks in Chandmari area last night. Three of the women seen in the video footage were arrested and the Mizo girl was taken to the Mizoram House here for safety and medical care, official sources said.
