National innovation award winner of Dhemaji feted
 DHEMAJI, Dec 27 – A national innovation award winning student of Dhemaji district, Archana Konwar was warmly felicitated at Butikor ME School recently by the schools of the area, Paschim Dhemaji unit of AASU and the local people.

 On this occasion, a meeting was organised at Butikor ME School which was chaired by headmaster Sadanda Gogoi and the objective of the meeting was explained by student leader Arun Borsaikia. The Paschim Dhemaji Anchalik unit of AASU, teachers and students of the schools of the locality, including Butikor ME School and the local people felicitated Archana Konwar with phulam gamosa, japi, books, pen set and a citation. Archana’s father journalist Biren Kumar Konwar and mother Labanya Konwar were also felicitated with gamosa at the meeting.

Addressing the audience, Devajit Phukan, coordinator of Magamix Nature Club lauded Archana Konwar on her great success of winning the national innovation award and hoped that she would shine in future in the field of innovation by dint of her perserverence and insight.

Kalyan Gogoi, organisational secretary of Dhemaji district unit of AASU, in his speech called upon the students of the district to follow Archana’s path for innovative work.

Sadananda Gogoi in his brief presidencial remarks congratulated the national awardee and advised her to study hard in order to achieve academic excellence. Among others who spoke and blessed Archana were teacher Bhugeswari Hazarika, Lakshman Bora, Puspa Borthakur, Nandeswar Dutta and Putul Hazarika.

Archana Konwar in her speech expressed her great joy and satisfaction at winning a national award and urged the students to learn to think in a new way on everything to create or innovate something new.

It may be pertinent to add here that Archana Konwar is a student of Class VIII of Butikor High School in Dhemaji district. She won IGNITE-10 Innovation Award in the children’s creativity IGNIE 2010 competition conducted by the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) for her innovation ‘crutch with spring shock absorber and audio/light alarm’. This is the first time anyone from Assam has bagged this national award. Archana received this award from the former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at RJMCEI, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in a gorgeous function.
