Human chain formed for govt attention

 DOOMDOOMA, Dec 23 - Tinsukia district committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) in association with its several regional units on Sunday conducted a human chain programme at Kakopothar to draw the attention of the government towards a few burning problems of the district. AJYCP’s Tinsukia district committee president Surajit Moran and acting secretary Kanchan Bora led the programme.

Later, the youth body sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding permanent solution of Dirak-Sumoni embankment problem. Other demands include new ITIs at Sadiya and Ledo, restoration of irrigation projects in the district, preservation of the historical sites in the district, immediate work on the proposed thermal power project of Margherita, appointment of adequate number of doctors and nurses and supply adequate medicines in government hospitals of the district, among others.

Hundreds of AJYCP activists participated in the programme.
