|Former Manipur Minister dies|
IMPHAL, Dec 20 - Former Manipur Power Minister Phungzathang Tonsing passed away in a New Delhi hospital at 7.30 pm last night. He was 79.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters. According to sources, former Minister Tonsing was re-admitted to Apollo Hospital in the national capital two weeks ago for his medical treatment. His body is likely to be flown in a chartered flight here on Friday for performing the last rites.
Manipur Assembly on Thursday expressed deep sorrow on the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, former Manipur Governor SS Sidhu and Tonsing. The Assembly also observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls. – Correspondent
