GUWAHATI, Dec 18 - The members of the Assamese community in Seattle, USA gathered to support the unprecedented protests in Assam against the Citizenship Amendment Act on December 15, stated a press release.
Around 50 Assamese people assembled peacefully for this purpose in front of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in a local library.
People expressed their support to the protesters in Assam by displaying placards about the CAA and the damage it can do to the language, culture, and economic well-being of the indigenous people. Before concluding, the group discussed specific ways by which they can themselves nurture and preserve the Assamese language and culture.
