Acharya visits historic temples of city

 GUWAHATI, Dec 13 – Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya, who was sworn in on Friday, paid obeisance at the Kamakhya, Dol Gobinda and Tirupati Balaji temples of the city today along with the First Lady Kavita Acharya and son Guru Dutt Acharya.

The Governor prayed for peace and prosperity of the State and the nation at all the three temples and sought the blessings of the priests and also urged them to pray for peace and prosperity of the State and the country, an official press release said.

The Governor appreciated the cleanliness maintained in the temples and said that cleanliness was next to godliness. He urged all to build a ‘Swachh and Samriddh Bharat.’

The Governor and his family members had prasad and bhog at the temples. While paying a visit to the Kamakhya temple kitchen complex, he asked the workers to open savings accounts under the Government’s ‘Jan Dhan Yojana’ to avail the various benefits available under the scheme.
