Bora, who was holding the post of Chairman of the Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation, told the media here that he has informed the party leadership about leaving his post and primary membership of the party.
Bora, who joined the anti-CAB protest in Latasil playground today, said that he waited long for the party to respect the mandate of the people of Assam.
“I had joined the party and took the post of the State Film Corporation so that I can contribute to the uplift of Assamese cinema and revive the pending projects linked to Assamese films. This government showed some interest in the field through a film policy and projects for reviving cinema halls. However, I cannot forget that I am an Assamese first. I am what I am for the love of the Assamese people. At this hour of crisis, I have decided to stand by my people and oppose CAB tooth and nail,” Bora stated.
