BSNL to install 72 towers in Karbi Anglong
 DIPHU, Dec 12 Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has urged the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to install 72 more mobile towers in the hill district Karbi Anglong for the betterment of mobile connectivity.

 To make more accessible mobile network connectivity, Moloy Bora, Principal Secretary, KAAC held a joint meeting at Diphu on Tuesday where Tuliram Ronghang, CEM, KAAC, V Rao, General Manager, BSNL, Assam Circle, Guwahati BSNL, District Magistrate, DIG, Central range were also present.

In the meeting the Chief General Manager, BSNL, Guwahati, V Rao after the meeting agreed to set up 72 number of mobile towers in Karbi Anglong district in next six to eight months to boost cellular phone connectivity. In the meeting, they also planned to lay Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) line for more than 300 km of length across the district.

During the executive committee meeting, Tuliram Ronghang, CEM, KAAC welcomed the initiative of the BSNL and the Executive Members present expressed their full support for the expansion of project.

Moloy Bora, Principal Secretary, KAAC highlighted about the poor network connectivity of telecom services particularly in Hamren subdivision in Karbi Anglong. The BSNL agreed to set up additional mobile towers of OFC network in Karbi Anglong for the benefit of people basically living in the backward areas and in the inter-State border areas, Bora added.
