Bandh cripples normal life in Tinsukia dist

 TINSUKIA, Dec 10 - The-48 hour Assam bandh from December 9 given by the All Moran Students’ Union and 11-hour North East bandh call on December 10 by the North East Students’ Union paralysed normal life in entire Tinsukia district for the second successive day today.

Business establishments and other trade centres, financial and educational institutions remained closed in the district. Vehicular traffic remained off the roads. Picketers banned movement of private vehicles, including two- wheelers by burning tyres etc., on the roads in various locations.

People came out on the roads in support of the bandh in many places, namely Tinsukia, Makum, Digboi, Margherita, Doomdooma, Kakopathar, Chapakhowa etc., within the district. No untoward incident was reported till the time of filing this report.
