Protest against citizenship Bill in Delhi
Spl Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Dec 9 - Ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament on Tuesday, at least 70 organisations on Sunday began its indefinite hunger strike demanding repeal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016.

“We will not accept the Bill under any circumstances,” said president of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, Akhil Gogoi.

“It is a conspiracy of the BJP and RSS to create a Hindu Rashtra and to change the Constitution itself. We want to inform the entire country about this and that is why we are holding this indefinite demonstration,” said Gogoi,

“Since the Parliament is meeting from Tuesday we want to inform the country about the designs of the BJP-RSS. The aim is not only to bring illegal migrants into Assam but also wants to change the Constitution,” Gogoi said.

Meanwhile, the Gogoi who is leading the demonstration has run into trouble with the Delhi Police denying any space in Jantar Mantar to stage their demonstration. The group numbering around 60 people were given time till 5 pm to stage their demonstration forcing Akhil Gogoi to run from pillar to post seeking fresh permission.
