GUWAHATI, Dec 7 - Startling facts have cropped up in the sensational Shweta Agarwal murder case with the post-mortem report revealing that a ‘sharp weapon’ was used to kill her.
Police, however, is yet to recover the ‘sharp weapon’ used to slit her neck.
This is contradictory to prime accused Govind Singhal’s earlier confession that Shweta died after she was pushed by him in a fit of rage on Monday afternoon.
Sources privy to the autopsy report delivered today confirmed that the findings have lent an altogether different angle to the murder case.
“The report says that a sharp weapon was used to kill Shweta, necessitating a relook into the entire turn of events,” sources said.
However, the report confirmed that there were no trace of any sexual assault on the body of the deceased.
The report also reflected that the deceased was not pregnant as was reported in a section of media.
“If she was killed by a sharp weapon, there is also a possibility that there could be some hidden motive behind the murder. Further, the confessional statements of Govind does not add up completely with those of his mother and sister,” sources divulged.
Govind along with his mother and sister are currently in police custody.
