JORHAT, Dec 6 - As per the direction of the State Election Commission, the Titabar Civil Sub-divisional administration has ordered re-polling at the 587 number polling station -Kharikatia Kishan LP School - under 59 Dakhin Katani Gaon panchayat from 7am to 3pm tomorrow.
Yesterday, not a single vote was polled in the station as all the voters had abstained from voting following a section of the voters found their names missing in the voters’ list of the said station.
Titabar Sub-divisional Officer Ayush Garg told The Assam Tribune that the administration today held a discussion with the local people of the area and they agreed to cast their votes as per the present voters' list. Garg also informed that the final figure of polling percentage of Titabar was 67.31.
Meanwhile, a Jorhat district administration official stated that the final figure of polling percentage of Jorhat election district (Sadar Sub-division) was 71.48.
The polling percentage in the entire Majuli district was recorded at 78.81, Majuli Deputy Commissioner Debaprasad Misra informed.
Golaghat: The final polling percentage of Golaghat sadar Sub-division was 77.29, Additional Deputy Commissioner SK Gogoi said.
Bokakhat Civil Sub-divisional Officer Vivek Shyam said the final polling percentage for Bokakhat Sub-division was 78.05. A Dhansiri Sub-divisional administration official stated that the final polling percentage for the sub-division was 71.84.
Sivsagar ANN Service adds: Re-polling has been ordered in 84 Kukurachuwa LP school and 89 Lunpuriya LP school of Dupdar ZPC by Election Commission, Assam following countermanding of polls yesterday due to an anomaly in allotment of ballot papers to these centres. Re-polling will be held tomorrow from 7am.
