|NGO observes 23rd foundation day|
GUWAHATI, Dec 6 - The Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD) organised a programme here on Tuesday to mark 23 years of its foundation, said a delayed press release.
Dr Sunita Changkakati, Chairperson of the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR); Sujata Suchibrata, secretary of ASCPCR; Manna Biswas, child protection specialist from UNICEF; Dr Chiranjeeb Kakoty, founder of Adolescent and Child Rights Network Assam (ACRNA); Surendra Talkhedkar of Sewa Bharati Purvanchal, and Dr Krishna Sharma and Pradipta Pran Changkakati, founding members of ACRD, were present on the occasion.
ACRD was established in 1995 by late Dr Lily Mazinder Baruah, youngest daughter of Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi. The registered non-profit organisation has been working in various parts of Assam on a range of issues like trafficking, empowerment of women, child rights, disability, livelihood, health and education.
