 HAFLONG, Dec 5 - The Chief Executive Member of NC Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Debolal Gorlosa inaugurated the newly-constructed Hirimba Pratap Thaosen Bhawan-cum-Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU) office in the presence of the Chairman of Haflong Town Committee Anil Daulagupu, Deputy Commissioner Amitabh Rajkhowa, president and secretaries of various students’ organisations of Dima Hasao, on Monday.

In this connection, a well-attended meeting was held at the DSU office premises with Sidut Naiding, president of DSU in the chair. Debolal Gorlosa, graced the occasion as the chief guest while the Deputy Commissioner, Executive Member Amendu Hojai, HTC Chairman Anil Daulagupu, president of Jadikhe Naisho Hosom Kailen Daulagupu, Diend Thaosen, president of Dimasa Lairidim Mel, presidents and secretaries of Karbi Students’ Association, Hmar Students’ Association, etc., attended as the guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, CEM Gorlosa appealed to the students’ community to work hard in the interest of the district and to develop their own language, culture and tradition.

Deputy Commissioner Rajkhowa while appreciating the contribution of the DSU for the development of the society, felt that the students’ community was much better placed when compared to others for raising genuine issues related to development, peace and brotherhood.
