BAA to probe allegations against Mukut Medhi

GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - The Basketball Association of Assam (BAA) at a meeting held today has decided to probe the allegations against secretary Mukut Medhi and set up a three-member inquiry committee.

The State basketball body has expressed its dissatisfaction over the incidents during the Udaipur U-16 and Kangra U-14 national championships where Assam teams were barred from taking part due to technical errors. The inquiry committee has to submit the report within 15 days.

The meeting also resolved to hand over the responsibility to assistant general secretary Phanindra Medhi to carry on the duties of secretary in absence of Mukut Medhi.

The meeting also decided to organise a selection camp from December 20 to pick up the State teams for the 69th Senior National Basketball Championship to be held in Gujarat from January 5 to 12, stated a release issued by BAA president Pulak Goswami.
