GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - A 15-day Business Incubation Training Programme on Adventure Tourism, conducted by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), began on Tuesday.
Sponsored by the North Eastern Council, the programme will conclude on December 17. A total of 25 participants from different NE states are participating in it.
“Business Incubation Training on Adventure Tourism will be fully residential in the IIE Campus and practical training will be in and around Guwahati rock fields and water-sports points. The incubation training includes mountaineering, basic rock climbing, jungle safari, jungle camping and water-sports,” an IIE spokesperson said.
Apart from practical training, management topics such as introduction of adventure tourism, adventure tourism as a business venture, entrepreneurship, business communication, risk management, operations management and legal formalities as well as liability for setting up an adventure tourism enterprise would also be covered.
Dr Abhijit Sharma, Director, IIE, inaugurated the programme in the presence of Dipak Kumar, Regional Director, NSS, NER; ASS Dewan, Course Director & AFM, IIE; AK Baruah, AFM, IIE; Hemanta Rabha, Senior Project Officer, IIE; Manash Barooah, general secretary, Assam Mountaineering Association, and the participants and officials of the training.
