|Vegetable traders union alleges harassment|
GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - The Guwahati District Local Vegetables Traders Union has alleged that despite having a court order in its favour, the members of the Union were facing regular harassment from the district administration.
In a statement issued to the press, the Union alleged that its members doing business on MS Road in the eastern side are assaulted and evicted by the police on a regular basis and insisted that they be provided security to do their business.
“We have 166 members and we have been paying tax to the GMC year after year. The Gauhati High Court gave its verdict in our favour to continue our business,” said the Union.
