GUWAHATI, Dec 3 – Condemning the killing of two persons by suspected NDFB(S) terrorists at Baksa district yesterday, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today said repeated incidents of killings in the State has brought to the fore the Assam government and Home department's failure to maintain law and order.

In a statement, AIUDF chief and Lok Sabha MP Badruddin Ajmal said that the latest killings took place merely three days after the high - level conference of DGP/IGPs was held in Guwahati in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

“This has brought to fore the real nature of law and order situation in Assam. The State government and the Home department have failed to protect the lives and property of common people of Assam, especially in the BTAD region,” Ajmal said.

Calling for deployment of additional forces in sensitive areas to prevent any such attacks in future, the AIUDF supremo also demanded upon the State government to provide ex - gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of those killed.
