Staff Reporter GUWAHATI, Dec 2 - Jurismita Puzari of Guwahati has done the State proud by winning the National Karmaveer Chakra Gold Award from REX and United Nations for her commendable work for society. Uday Shankar Borah of Dergaon too has been awarded the National Karmaveer Bronze Award for meritorious service.

Both of them are former fellows of the Gandhi Fellowship programme and Zila Swachh Bharat Prerak of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS) and Tata Trust.
They are currently district leaders of Piramal Foundation and working in education leadership and water respectively.
Earlier in 2014-15, Jurismita Puzari had been recognised by REX and the UN for her contribution towards education and social empowerment and thereby honoured with both bronze and silver awards respectively.
The duo received their respective awards in New Delhi on November 27 at an award function which is part of iCONGO’s REX Conclave in collaboration with United Nations.
These awards are presented in order to recognise people who have the courage of conviction to think differently and walk the path less trodden and to act on alternative/innovative ideas which may make a difference in the world.
