As a result of the satisfactory progress achieved so far, the following milestones have been achieved stated a press release issued by DC Borah, Sr PRO/Construction on Monday.

The release stated that (i) Motor Trolley inspection from km 0 to km 78 was completed on November 27. (ii) Push Trolley inspection from km 145 to Badarpur to Silchar was achieved on December 1. (iii) First BG locomotive on the section was run from km 0 to km 26 on November 6. A meeting was conducted with the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao in which this aspect was highlighted with a request from the Railways to the civil administration to prevent such instances of work stoppages in the future as they are detrimental to the progress of work which has to be completed by March 31, 2015.
