Governor to attend milk producers’ meet

 PATACHARKUCHI, Dec 1 – Governor JB Patnaik will attend the eighth annual session of the Bajali Milk Producers Coordination Committee, an apex organisation of milk producers of Bajali subdivision, which will be held at Bezkuchi Bikash Kshetra on December 3-4 under the aegis of the organisation and Bezkuchi Milk Producers’ Samabay Samiti.

The organisers are now working on a war-footing to greet the Governor, informed Sripad Choudhury, president of the Bajali Milk Producers’ Coordination Committee, at a press meet held here yesterday.

The press meet was attended by Biju Deka, secretary of Bezkuchi Milk Producers Samabay Samiti, and members Narayan Goswami, Kumud Deka and Amal Sarma.

On this occasion, teams of National Rural Livelihood Mission will display their products in a number of stalls. A veterinary department stall will also be set up at the venue.

During the two-day programme, a souvenir will be released, a calf show competition will be held among the farmers, and cattle farmers will be felicitated. Grass feed free of cost will also be distributed during the programme.

On December 4, an open meeting will be held where a number of dignitaries, including Agriculture Minister Nilamani Sen Deka, Veterinary and Hill Areas Development Minister Kharsing Ingti, Barnali Deka, DC of Barpeta, Dr Manoranjan Thakur, Managing Director of Purabi Diary, are expected to be present.

It may be mentioned here that the committee has been able to create a white revolution in the area by producing record amount of milk every day.
