CM’s directive on Kamakhya security

 GUWAHATI, Dec 1 – Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has stressed on making the security system of Kamakhya temple fool-proof.

In a meeting of the Kamakhya Unnayan Committee at his office conference hall today, the Chief Minister directed the departments concerned to make the security system of the temple fool-proof, official, sources said here.

For the purpose, the Chief Minister asked the departments to apply ultra-modern technology and raising the number of security men.

Several steps to develop the temple as an attractive tourist destination, like formation of a tourist circuit, improvement of the transportation system, improved water supply network etc. were discussed.

The Chief Minister also directed the departments concerned to free the Kamakhya Temple’s Debuttor land from the possession of the encroachers.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister today said in his tweeter account that insurgency cannot be contained through security forces alone. “It is possible through creating employment opportunity and building infrastructure,” he said.
