MORIGAON, Nov 30 - Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal addressed as many as three massive panchayat poll rallies in Morigaon district today.

Addressing huge rallies at Nellie, Bhurbandha and Kapahera, Sonowal said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only party which can form a corruption-free, development-oriented panchayati raj in the State. The Chief Minister further said that the people of Assam are aware of the fact that due to the deep-rooted corruption by the Congress-led panchayats in the State during their regime, development had come to a halt. The BJP-led government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and as a result there is a transparent government at Dispur, he said. He appealed to the people to cast their votes for the BJP if they want peace and progress at the village level.

The Minister of State for Health, Piyush Hazarika and the MLA of Morigaon, Rama Kanta Deori also addressed the meetings.
