GOLAGHAT, Aug 30 – An eviction drive will be conducted in the sixth extended area of the Kaziranga National Park from September 6. This information was released by the State Government through a petition submitted to the High Court.
In the petition, it was also mentioned that the displaced families would be paid Rs 10 lakh each.
It may be mentioned here that Mrinal Kumar Saikia, BJP leader, had moved the High Court against the suspected foreign nationals living in the sixth extended area of the Park. The eviction drive will continue for a month.
Saikia appreciated the State Government for the decision at a press conference held on August 27.
