|Dimapur to get three flights under UDAN|
DIMAPUR, Aug 28 - In the next two months, Nagaland’s commercial hub, Dimapur, will have air connectivity with Guwahati, Imphal and Dibrugarh.
According to a press release issued by the Raj Bhavan, Kohima, the Union Civil Aviation Ministry has assured Nagaland Governor RN Ravi that these flights would become operational by October.
“The air services on three routes – Dimapur-Guwahati, Dimapur-Imphal and Dimapur-Dibrugarh – will be covered under the UDAN scheme. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave the assurance during his meeting with Governor Ravi on August 27 in New Delhi when the air connectivity in Nagaland came up for discussion,” the press note said.
Meanwhile, Ravi sought Puri’s help for early operationalisation of flights in these three sectors.
According to the press statement, the Union minister gave necessary instructions to officials of the Ministry and airlines concerned and assured the Governor that the flight services on these sectors would begin by October this year.
The Nagaland Governor expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for his prompt action. The press note also said that “improved air, surface and digital connectivity in Nagaland are priority concerns of the Governor”.
