GUWAHATI, Aug 28 - The All Assam Judicial Employees Association will go on a non-cooperation strike on September 12 to press for implementation of the Justice Shetty Commission’s recommendation in respect of the staff of subordinate Judiciary in the State.
In a statement, the association alleged that it has decided to carry out the strike as the State government is yet to make any response to its memoranda on the issue.
The association further stated that it has also not got any response from the Anomaly Committee of the 7th Pay Commission of Assam on the demand over non-inclusion of pay scale as well as posts of the staff of the subordinate Judiciary in Assam along with the demands for graduate pay scale, advance increment to the law graduate employees, bench assistant Grade-1, Grade-2, Grade-3, etc.
General secretary of the association Ananta Prasad alleged that the revision of pay (ROP) 2017 vis-a-vis the posts of the judicial employees was also silent on the compliance with the report by the 7th Assam Pay and Productivity Commission.
The association also expressed its dissatisfaction with the unusual delay in publishing the Service Rule of the subordinate judicial courts’ employee of the State despite the fact that the Gauhati High Court had already forwarded the Service Rule in the name and style ‘The Assam District Court Employees Service Rule 2014’ on July 13, 2015 to the State government for its publication in the Assam Gazette. Later, the same was renamed as ‘The Assam District Court Employees Service Rule 2019’, but the same is yet to be published. Due to non-publication of the Service Rule, copyists or typists and computer typists are being deprived of promotion to the next higher grade, it said.
