KMSS to support anti-BJP political front
Correspondent
DHEMAJI, Aug 27 - Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) general secretary Dharjay Konwar on Thursday said they are all set to support a political platform to defeat the ruling BJP in the 2021 Assembly polls.

Konwar, who attended a consensus meeting of the KMSS and its allied organizations at Gogamukh Chauldhowa on Thursday, said his organization would take an active part in the anti-BJP political alliance to form a people-friendly State government.

Konwar said that the ruling BJP and regional party Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) have betrayed the people and adopted anti-people policies to rule over the innocent Assamese people with the help of Hindu Bangladeshis.

He feels that a united stand of various regional forces of the State, including anti-CAA unions, is the need of hour to defeat the BJP.

When asked whether he will contest the forthcoming election as KMSS supported candidate, Konwar said that the team would be finalised after their top leader Akhil Gogoi, who is presently under NIA custody, is released. The consensus meet held in presence of about 300 KMSS activists and its allied organization adopted a decision to support the formation of a new political party.
