Sangma expels Manipur NPP president

 IMPHAL, Aug 27 - National People’s Party (NPP) president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has expelled the party’s Manipur unit president, Thangminlien Kipgen, for allegedly acting against the constitution of the party.

 “In order to ensure that the office continues, we appoint N Kayisii who is also the Tribal Affairs Minister in the State of Manipur as the interim president.”

Sangma said that the election to the State unit of Manipur would take place shortly following all the procedures of the NPP constitution.
