|Jorhat admin warns eateries not to use domestic LPG cylinders|
JORHAT, Aug 27 - Jorhat Additional Deputy Commissioner Jayanta Kumar Goswami, who is in charge of the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, by an order issued today warned all commercial establishments involved in food business not to use domestic LPG cylinders.
Goswami has asked hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other food stalls in the district to use commercial LPG cylinders.
The ADC said that the district administration – apart from seizing LPG cylinders if from the domestic quota were found to have been used – will initiate legal action against owners of the establishments.
He said action will be taken against errant owners of establishments involved in food business under the relevant provisions of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas ( Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000. Violation of the Order has provision of imprisonment along with fine imposed on the guilty.
Last month, the administration through the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department in a drive against use of domestic LPG cylinders in and around Jorhat, had seized 40 cylinders from hotels and other establishments involved in food business.
