MLA inspects proposed bridge site over Gangadhar river

 GOSSAIGAON, Aug 25 - The Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary inspected the proposed site of an RCC bridge over the Gangadhar river at Tamarhat on Friday. It may be mentioned that at the time of the last Panchayat elections, the PWD and Health & Family Welfare Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had promised the people of Tamarhat of construction of an RCC bridge over the Gangadhar river. In accordance with his promise, Dr Sarma asked Gossaigaon MLA Narzary to inspect the site.

 Accordingly, the MLA with BPF workers and workers of other political parties, visited visited Tamarhat, 30 km east- west of Gossaigaon on August 23. If the bridge over the Gangadhar is constructed, which is a long-standing demand of the Assam-West Bengal people, then the economy will get a boost and communication network will improve. Presently, people from both States cross the river by boat or ferry.

Tamarhat-Kathaltoli Parghat has been proposed as the site for the construction of the long-awaited bridge. People of greater Tamarhat and its adjoining places have expressed great satisfaction over the proposal to construct the bridge.
