City hospital included in anti-TB mission|
GUWAHATI, Aug 22 - The Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP), Assam, yesterday formally involved the Health City Hospital, Guwahati, in its effort to augment private sector involvement in the programme to achieve its mission for a tuberculosis-free Assam by 2025.
A sensitisation programme on RNTCP was jointly organised by Health City Hospital and State TB Cell, Assam. Two technical presentations were made at the programme, by Dr Madhab Kalita and Dr Simanta Borah. All the doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital attended the event, including leading physicians of the State Dr Bhabani Chakraborty, Dr Chandana Sarma and Dr Rashna Das, who are currently associated with the health institution.
Dr Atanu Borthakur of the Health City Hospital announced that as a private sector health service provider, Health City would utilise the diagnostic and treatment facility offered by RNTCP for needy patients.
Dr NJ Das, Additional Director of Health Services, and State Programme Officer RNTCP, informed that the private sector hospital can play a vital role in TB elimination by utilising the diagnostic facilities offered free of cost by RNTCP.
