|Assam emerge top in nat’l MMA|
GUWAHATI, Aug 21 - Assam emerged champions in the 1st National Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship which concluded at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium in the RG Baruah Sports Complex here last evening.
The two-day championship was organised by the Bidang MMA and Fitness Gym and Trans Virtual.
Mridul Saikia was adjudged best fighter.
The medal winners from Assam in different categories are: (Light weight) Manir Mahanta (gold), Bishal Talukdar (silver), Markus Lalmuanzuwala, Samiran Gogoi (bronze). (Welterweight) Akhay Kr Sarma (bronze). (Heavyweight) Rajib Paul (silver). (Middleweight) Rajib Ali (gold), Sreyan Rai (silver), Manash Daimary (bronze). (Men’s 52kg group) Mridul Saikia (gold). (56kg flyweight) Ritesh Paswan (gold), Gunajit Nath (silver). (Women 48kg) Jyostismita Deka, Nilakhi Hazarika (bronze). (52kg) Jingtai Wangshu (silver), Niva Boro (bronze). (56kg) Sonam Jombai (gold), Narjitara Khound (silver).
