GUWAHATI, Aug 21 – ASEB Sports Club and SAI Sports Club registered victories in today’s matches of the RG Baruah GSA Super League Football Tournament.At Nehru Stadium here, ASEB defeated Assam Police Blues by a clear margin of 2-0 goals while SAI Sports Club fetched a thrilling 4-3 victory against Dynamo Club.
Jilendra Brahma, who has been the main striker of the team, again came good for ASEB as he scored the opening goal in the 32 minute taking opportunity of a goal mouth melee.
Police custodian Kailash Das, who spoilt the day for his team, fumbled in gathering the ball off a sharp shot from Jilendra and opportunist Shyam Mura pumped home from a close range.
No goal was resulted in the second session despite some all out effort from both the sides.
In the other match of the day both SAI and Dynamo played fast-paced game and altogether seven goals were scored during the course.
Bipul Khanikar drew the first blood for SAI in the very second minute converting a spot kick. But Samir Karmakar equalised the issue in the 20th minute and Lalfak Mawia took Dynamo ahead in the 58th minute.
After that it was SAI’s turn as substitute Laxman Rabha scored two snap goals in the 60th and 63rd minutes respectively to put his team 3-2 ahead. Subhakhan Rabha made it 4-2 in favour of SAI in the 79th minute which virtually sealed the fate of the match. However, Oneybi Nandos Ogbonna scored Dynamo’s third goal in the 85th minute to bring back live into the match. But the SAI boys finally managed to keep the lead intact till the final hooter.
