Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Aug 20 - A CCTV footage of a spine-chilling incident which shows a Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel saving a passenger from being crushed between the platform and a running train at the Guwahati Railway Station has gone viral in the social media. Pranav Jyoti Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), said that the footage is from August 14.

The passenger, who has been identified as Amulya Kumar Nath, a resident of Rangiya, slipped while trying to board the 14055 DN Brahmaputra Mail that was departing from platform number one of the station.

Fortunately, RPF Head Constable BS Pegu managed to get hold of the passenger. The entire incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed at the platform.

The footage was shared by the NFR in a tweet yesterday and the video of the incident has since gone viral in the social media.

“While we salute constable Pegu for his bravery, we appeal to all not to board or get off a moving train. It may cost you your life,” NFR tweeted.
