State shooting body’s meet held

 GUWAHATI, Aug 20 – The Annual General Meeting of Assam Rifle and Shooting Association (ARSA) was held at the Guwahati Sports Shooting Complex, 4th APBn, Kahilipara here yesterday with president Bhaskar Jyoti Mahnata in the chair.

The previous governing body was dissolved and a new body was formed in the meeting with Pallab Bhattacharye as president. The meeting also resolved to hold the 8th All Assam Shooting Championship from September 12 to 14.

The events to be held in the championship are: 10 m Air Pistol (men and women), 10m Air Rifle (men and women), 50m Free Pistol (men only), 50m three position rifle (men and women), 50m Prone position rifle (men and women), 25m STD pistol (men), 25m Sports Pistol (women), 25m Center Fire (men).

The new members of the ARSA are: President-Pallab Bhattacharjye, vice-presidents (Technical) – Amitabha Sinha, (Public Relation) – DC Mahanta, (Finance) – Anil Das, (Administration) – K Chanda. General secretary – Bhaba Kalita, asst gen secy – Nayanmoni Gohain, treasurer – Nimai Das.

This governing body also felicitated Aiay Kumar Narzary and Rituraj Bhagawati for successfully completing the Shooting Sports Trainer Course conducted by National Rifle Association of India in New Delhi recently, a release said.
