Cong denies BJP’s charges
MORIGAON, Aug 18 - Ripun Borah, spokesperson, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, has vehemently protested BJP MP Ramen Deka’s press statement that the Congress-led Assam Government was involved in the Louis Berger scam.

Addressing a press conference here, after campaigning for the Tiwa Council polls, Ripun Bora said that Deka has no locus standi to pass such a remark at a time, when a charge sheet has been submitted against Louis Berger in an American court, where the name of Assam or any of its agency does not figure. Referring to the TAC polls, Bora said that the Congress will come into power there. He further said that Congress is the only party which can take the credit for creation of councils for the tribal people of Assam.

Referring to the the spate of corruption cases of the BJP Governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharastra, Bora said that the BJP has no moral right to criticise others on the issue of corruption.
