|Annual meet of hotel owners’ body held|
GUWAHATI, Aug 15 - The annual convention of the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Assam (HRAA) was held recently at Hotel Atithi here and a new executive committee consisting of 20 members formed for the year 2019-20, said a press release issued here today.
More than 50 hotel and restaurant owners took part in the convention. In the open general session, several distinguished personalities including Jayanta Malla Barua, Chairman, ATDC; Bhaskar Phukan, MD, ATDC; Deba Mishra, Director, Tourism, Assam; Amitabh Dey, Principal, IHM; Sudarshan Thakur, Secretary, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, etc., from the tourism industry and top officials from the Government of Assam were present. A brief cultural event was also organised to mark the day.
Anupam Bora, who was the HRAA general secretary for the last two consecutive years, was elected president and Pranab Das was given charge of general secretary for 2019-20.
Earlier, in the annual general meeting of HRAA, various issues related to the hotel industry were thoroughly discussed and a decision taken to take up all the issues with the authorities concerned immediately.
