 GUWAHATI, Aug 13 - Team Red clinched the title in the Assam Cricket Association’s (ACA) Challenger Trophy cricket tournament edging past Green by virtue of first innings lead as the final match ended in a draw at the Judges’ Field here today.

In reply to Red’s fist innings total of 218 yesterday, resuming at 73 for the loss of one wicket, Green team folded their innings at 172 in 50.5 overs.

At close Red were 35 for two in their second innings.

In the closing function ACA president Romen Dutta, vice president Porikhit Dutta, secretary Devajit Saikia, joint secretary Kamakhya Saikia, former State Ranji cricketers Rajesh Borah, Pabitra Dutta among others were present and gave away the prizes.

Brief scores: Team Red 1st innings 218.

Team Green 1st innings (Overnight 73/1) 172 (Pallav Das 43, Hrishikesh Tamuli 40, Jitumoni Kalita 30, Sidharth Sharma 4/42, Raj Agarwal 4/40).
