|Mrinmoy finishes fourth|
GUWAHATI, Aug 11 - Mrinmoy Rajkhowa of Assam claimed the fourth position in the 33rd National Under-9 Open Chess Championship organised by Gujarat Chess Association at Ahmedabad from August 3 to 11.
In the last and final round, Mrinmoy held Akash G of Tamil Nadu to secure a draw and scored 9 points from 11 rounds. Akash G claimed the title by scoring 9.5 points. Mrinmoy scored 9 points along with Adireddi Arjun and Suhash A (both from Telangana). But Adireddi got second position and Suhash got third position on the basis of tie-break score.
Kandarpa Kalita, president, All Assam Chess Association and Rajib Dhar, secretary, All Assam Chess Association congratulated Mrinmoy on his achievement.
