Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha conference
UDALGURI, Aug 10 - The Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS), a premier literary organisation of the Nepali- speaking population of the State, on Tuesday expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for accepting the invitation to the forthcoming ANSS conference to be held at Margherita in Tinsukia district from November 12 to 14 next.

This was stated in a press release of the literary organisation issued by Dr Chintamoni Sarmah, general secretary of ANSS.

The ANSS press release further informed that during the meeting with the Education Minister, the ANSS expressed its grave concern over the recent advertisement of TET for the high schools under the BTC, KAAC and the NCHC in which it was stated that only the candidates having MIL as Assamese, Bodo, Bengali and Hindi would be allowed to appear in the examination.

The 10-member ANSS delegation led by Dambar Dahal and Dr Chintamoni Sarmah, president and general secretary respectively of the organisation, apprised the Education Minister of the matter. The Education Minister gave a patient hearing to the ANSS plea and directed the concerned higher authority of the Education Department to publish a corrigendum of the earlier advertisement facilitating the TET candidates having Nepali MIL to appear in the scheduled TET to be held soon in the BTC, KAAC and the NCHC, the ANSS press release stated.
