Ghatowar denies Swiss bank account

NEW DELHI, Aug 10 – Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Parliamentary Affairs, Paban Singh Ghatowar has denied having any account in Swiss bank.

Threatening to take the newspaper, which reported that he had accounts in banks in Switzerland, where he parked his black money to court, Ghatowar alleged political conspiracy to tarnish his image before the people. “I wish to clarify that I do not have any money in Swiss banks. If there is even Rs 300 in foreign bank in my name then I would not only quit political life but also social life,” a visibly upset Ghatowar said, addressing the media.

The newly-appointed Minister said he has already apprised the Congress Party’s central leadership about the media reports connecting him with the Swiss bank accounts.

Ghatowar, however, said he was clueless as to how his name figured the list, purported as Wikileak list. The list containing names of several big wigs including top central political leaders of UPA, corporate honchos and prominent socialites has been in circulation for last couple of days, but more or less ignored by the media.
