Gogoi-Himanta tussle hits relief measures: MP
Spl Correspondent
NEW DELHI, Aug 9 – The perceived differences between Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma made the minority MPs see red, with Asaduddin Owaisi alleging that internal tussle was affecting relief operations.

With Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi listening with rapt attention, it was embarrassing moment for the Treasury Bench, when the MP from Hyderabad raked up the issue.

“Let the State Chief Minister and the Health Minister sit together in one room and sort out their internal differences. Let the people of Assam not pay the price of their internal power struggle. That is one of the reasons for the current trouble,” he said.

With reports of differences between Gogoi and the State Health Minister reaching AICC, several leaders of the State Congress Party have been summoned to Delhi for interaction during the past few days. Anjan Dutta for instance rushed to Delhi to meet general secretary Rahul Gandhi yesterday, after being summoned.
